Still Life with Scooter

I took this one in Rome.

There I was, just walking along down an ally in Rome. Scooters were everywhere, as they always are. If there's space to park, there's a scooter. Sidewalks, pedestrian pathways - everywhere they don't get run over, they park. The juxtaposition of the ancient and the brand-new is beautiful.

I'm a bit fascinated with scenes that appear to be partly grayscale and partly color. I assure you that the look is natural to this image - I didn't spot color it at all.

I have a 40" x 60" print of this if anyone's interested.

  1. I love this monochrome scooter with the rust colors on the wall. Was this some sort of manipulation? The grays seem so neutral!

Traveling to Rome to practice photography is my greatest dream!
