The Racetrack, Death Valley
Nobody knows for sure how the rocks move across the mud flat. You can walk the trail back towards its source but you can't find it.
Read more about the Racetrack here.

Light Leaks in Sayulita
This light leak was unintentional. Other frames were ruined, but I liked how the light leak framed the surfer in this shot. The colorful light leaks at the bottom of the frame echo some of the accents in the image.

Sayulita
I was gone on vacation last week. This is what I was shooting. This is Sayulita, a quaint little traditional mexican town and a surfer's ideal destination. I took this photograph on a vintage camera - a Zeiss Ikon.

Wide Format Fine Art Print at Pro Photo Supply
I just printed up this image of Arches National Park to hang in my lab at Pro Photo Supply. We are promoting fine art printing this month by having a sale, so I decided to do a large print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper, my favorite. It looks amazing at 44x44 inches. I took this photograph on a medium format film, so it has lots of detail. The colors and texture of the red rock really stand out on this fine art inkjet paper. Come by our photo lab to check it out if you're in the area. It's 1815 NW Northrup, Portland, Oregon.

Underwater Reflection
This is another image from my Underwater Series. These photographs were all taken underwater in swimming pools.
I love to see how the surface of the water distorts and reflects an object from below the surface. In this image you are viewing the seated subject from below. As you look up through the surface of the water you see both the reflection of her legs and, above it, the distorted image of her torso, which is above water.

Baroque Facade in Sevilla
No one likes this photograph as much as I do. I shot this image looking up through a translucent awning that was being set up for a street festival in a small square. This is a typical baroque-style church in Seville, Spain.

The Last Day for Christmas Orders
I got another order for this image last week. It's one of my best sellers. I'm starting to think of it as my signature image. This is one that I had displayed in Pro Photo Supply as a 40x60 print. Does anyone want something that big?
At any rate, today is the last day that I can get you a print before Christmas. Click here to order Cinque Terre.
I took this photo in Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre, Italy. The light was low and made the stucco housefronts glow. I took this from the Via dell'Amore looking over the little bay.

"Torso" Underwater Photograph
I don't have this one posted on my Etsy site. What do you think, would someone buy this?

Venetian Light
When I was young I took a romantic trip through Europe. I was shooting film then - this was before the age of digital - and using a trusty old Pentax camera my father had given me. This was the best image I took on the entire trip. When I printed it the first time, I fell in love with it. I've been printing it and perfecting it ever since.
This image is printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Photo Rag Paper. I do all my own printing. This photo prints up really beautifully, with lots of fine detail. You can purchase it as an 8x10 here or as a 20x24 here.
